चालाक बहू ( clever daughter-in-law )

एक ऐसी बहू जिसने अपनी चतुराई से पूरे परिवार को परेशान किया और एक ऐसी बहू जिसने 

अपनी समझदारी से फिर से पूरे परिवार को एकजुट कर दिया

A daughter-in-law who troubled the whole family with her cleverness and a daughter-in-law who

 Reunited the whole family with his wisdom.

एक गरीब आदमी था और उसके दो लड़के थे। वह आदमी अपने गांव में खेती किसानी करके अपना एवं अपने परिवार का पालन पोषण करता था। 

धीरे धीरे उसका बड़ा लड़का जब शादी के योग्य हो गया तो उस गरीब आदमी ने किसी तरह उसकी शादी कर के एक सुंदर सी बहू घर लाया । 

There was a poor man and he had two boys.  The man used to take care of himself and his family by doing farming in his village.

 Gradually, when his elder son became eligible for marriage, that poor man somehow married him and brought a beautiful daughter-in-law home.

घर में सब लोग बहुत खुश थे। बहू ने आते ही घर की सारी जिम्मेदारी संभाल लिया । घर का हर काम वह बहुत ही अच्छे ढंग से किया करती थी। घर के किसी भी मामले को वह बहुत ही चालाकी एवं सूझ बुझ से निपटा लिया करती थी ।

उसके कार्य से घर में हर कोई खुश रहता था। 

Everyone in the house was very happy.  The daughter-in-law took over all the responsibility of the house as soon as she came.  She used to do all the household chores very well.  She used to deal with any matter of the house with great tact and understanding.

 Everyone in the house was happy with his work.

धीरे धीरे उसने घर की पूरी बागडोर अपने कब्जे में कर लिया और पूरी तरह से सबका विश्वास हासिल कर लिया और घर की मालकिन बन गयी।

अब वह घर का कोई भी कार्य अपने मनमाने तरीके से करती थी । किसी भी कार्य के लिए वह अपने सास ससुर या घर के किसी भी सदस्य से कोई भी राय सलाह नहीं लेती थी पूरी तरह से सबको अपने इसारों पर नचाने लगी।

Slowly she took over the entire reins of the house and completely gained everyone's trust and became the mistress of the house.

 Now she used to do any household work in her own way.  For any work, she did not take any advice from her mother-in-law or any member of the house, completely danced everyone on her own sources.

जो बहू कल तक बहुत अच्छी लग रही थी वही बहू अब बहुत ही बुरी लगने लगी । घर में रोज किसी ना किसी बात को लेकर कहा सुनी होने लगी आये दिन लड़ाई झगड़े होने लगे।

इन्ही कारणों से तंग आकर एक दिन अपनी पत्नी और छोटे बेटे को लेकर अलग घर में रहने लगे घर का बंटवारा कर दिया। बड़ी बहू तो चाहती ही यही थी।

The daughter-in-law who was looking very good till yesterday, the same daughter-in-law started looking very bad now.  Every day in the house, about some or the other thing or the other, we started hearing fights and fights.

 Fed up with these reasons, one day with his wife and younger son, he started living in a separate house and divided the house.  This is what the elder daughter-in-law wanted.

अब बड़ा बेटा अपनी पत्नी के साथ अलग रहने लगा । और छोटा बेटा अपनी माँ बाप के साथ अलग रहने लगा।

कुछ दिनों के बाद उस गरीब आदमी ने अपने छोटे बेटे की भी शादी कर दी। छोटी बहू बहुत ही सुंदर और सुशील थी वह स्वभाव से भी सीधी साधी और सरल थी।

Now the eldest son started living separately with his wife.  And the younger son started living separately with his parents.

 After a few days that poor man also married his younger son.  The younger daughter-in-law was very beautiful and well-mannered, she was also simple and simple in nature.

छोटी बहू के आ जाने से उस गरीब आदमी के घर में फिर खुशियाँ वापस आ गयी। लेकिन उनकी ये खुशियाँ उसकी बड़ी बहू से देखी नहीं गई। अभी तक तो केवल घर का ही बंटवारा हुआ था लेकिन अब उसने जिद कर के घर से ले कर खेत तक सब कुछ का बंटवारा कर लिया।

लेकिन उसका बंटवारा करने का तरीका भी बिल्कुल अलग था। 

With the arrival of the younger daughter-in-law, happiness returned to the poor man's house again.  But his happiness was not seen from his elder daughter-in-law.  Till now only the house was divided but now he has divided everything from the house to the farm with his insistence.

 But the way of dividing it was also completely different.

उसने फसल के बंटवारे मे नियम बना दिया कि अगर गेहूं की खेती करना है तो ऊपर का हिस्सा बड़े भाई का और नीचे वाला हिस्सा छोटे भाई का, धान की फसल का नियम भी वही नियम बना दिया।

घर की बकरी के बंटवारे मे आगे का हिस्सा छोटे भाई का और पीछे का हिस्सा बड़े भाई का, रजाई और गद्दे के बंटवारे मे दिन में छोटा भाई इस्तेमाल करेगा और रात में बड़ा भाई इस्तेमाल करेगा ।

He made a rule in the division of the crop that if wheat is to be cultivated, then the upper part of the elder brother and the lower part of the younger brother, also made the same rule for the crop of paddy.

 In the division of the goat of the house, the front part of the younger brother and the back part of the elder brother, during the day the younger brother will use the quilt and mattress and at night the elder brother will use it.

इसी तरह घर की हर चीज का बंटवारा हो गया अगर छोटा भाई किसी बात को मानने से इनकार करता था तो बड़ी बहू जिद कर के जबरदस्ती बात को मनवा लिया करती थी।

इस से कोई खुश नहीं था। सिवाय बड़ी बहू के, बड़ा बेटा चाह कर भी कुछ नहीं कर सकता था। क्योंकि उसकी पत्नी यानि बड़ी बहू अपनी जिद पर हर बात मनवा लेती थी।

Similarly, everything in the house was divided, if the younger brother refused to accept anything, then the elder daughter-in-law used to forcefully get the matter convinced.

 No one was happy with this.  Except the elder daughter-in-law, the elder son could not do anything even if he wanted to.  Because his wife i.e. elder daughter-in-law used to get everything done on her insistence.

और छोटी बहू को आये हुए अभी कुछ ही दिन हुए थे इसलिए वह कुछ बोलना नहीं चाहती थी। कुछ दिन तो ऐसे ही चलता रहा । छोटा बेटा फसल उगाने के लिए खेत में काम करता बीज डालता खेत की सफाई कर के सिंचाई करता पूरा दिन खेत में काम करता और जब फसल तैयार हो जाती तो बड़ी बहू ऊपर का पूरा अनाज  काटकर अपने घर उठा ले जाती थी।

And it had been only a few days since the younger daughter-in-law had come, so she did not want to say anything.  It went on like this for some days.  The younger son used to work in the field to grow the crop, put the seeds, clean the field and irrigate the field, worked in the field all day and when the crop was ready, the elder daughter-in-law used to cut the entire grain above and take it to her house.

और इसी तरह छोटा बेटा बकरी के आगे के हिस्से को जो उसका था। उसे चारा खिलात

 था उसकी सेवा करता था। लेकिन दूध निकालने के समय उसकी बड़ी बहू पीछे के हिस्से से दूध निकाल लिया करती थी जो की उसके हिस्से में आता था बिस्तर के बंटवारे में दिन में जब उसकी जरूरत नहीं होती थी तो छोटे बेटे के हिस्से में और जब रात में ठंड पड़ने लगती तो बड़े बेटे के हिस्से में हो जाती थी।

And likewise the younger son to the front of the goat which belonged to him.  feed him

 was serving him.  But at the time of milking, her elder daughter-in-law used to take out milk from the back part, which used to come in her share, when she was not needed during the day, in the share of the younger son and when it started getting cold at night.  It used to be in the share of the eldest son.

इस तरह से वह गरीब आदमी और उसका पूरा परिवार उस बड़ी बहू की वजह से परेशान रहता था। उसकी छोटी बहू यह सब देखकर अत्यंत दुःखी रहती थी एक उसने अपने पति से कहा देखिये हम लोग कब तक इस तरह बर्दास्त करते रहेंगें।

हमें भी अब कुछ न कुछ करना पड़ेगा ।

In this way the poor man and his entire family used to be troubled because of that elder daughter-in-law.  Her younger daughter-in-law used to be very sad seeing all this, one she said to her husband, see how long we will continue to tolerate like this.

 Now we too have to do something.

ठीक है अब तुम ही बताओ हम क्या करें भाभी जी की जिद की वजह से पूरा परिवार परेशान है समझ में नहीं आता कि क्या करूं। छोटी बहु ने अपने पति से बोला आप उन्हे भी सबक सिखाओ तभी उन्हे समझ में आएगा ,

Alright, now you tell me what we should do, because of the insistence of sister-in-law, the whole family is upset, I do not understand what to do.  The younger daughter-in-law said to her husband, teach them a lesson, only then they will understand,

मगर कैसे ,जब उसके पति ने पूछा तो उसने अपने पति के कान में एक बात बताई वह बात उसकी समझ में आ गई।

अगले दिन जब बिस्तर उसके हिस्से में था। तब उसने पूरा बिस्तर गीला कर दिया ठंडी का समय था। रात में जब बड़ी बहू सोने के लिये कमरे में गयी तो पूरा बिस्तर गीला देखकर बहुत गुस्सा हुयी और अपने देवर से जाकर लड़ाई करने लगी

छोटे बेटे ने कहा देखो भाभी बंटवारे के हिसाब से पूरा बिस्तर दिन में मेरा है और मैं दिन में कुछ भी कर सकता हूं।ये सुनकर बड़ी बहू कुछ ना बोल सकी और अपना पैर पटकते हुए वापस चली गई। वह समझ चुकी थी कि हो न हो कोई न कोई इसे जरूर दिमाग़ दे रहा है।

But how, when her husband asked, she told a thing in her husband's ear, that thing came to her understanding.

 The next day when the bed was on his part.  Then he wet the whole bed. It was cold time.  At night, when the elder daughter-in-law went to the room to sleep, she got very angry seeing the whole bed wet and started fighting with her brother-in-law.

 The younger son said, look sister-in-law, according to the division, the whole bed is mine during the day and I can do anything during the day. Hearing this, the elder daughter-in-law could not say anything and went back slamming her feet.  She had understood that maybe someone or the other is giving her mind.

अगले दिन जब छोटा बेटा अपनी बकरी को चारा खिला रहा था तो बड़ी बहू उसका दूध निकालने गई ।

जैसे ही वह दूध निकालने के लिये बैठी तो छोटे बेटे ने बकरी के आगे वाले हिस्से में जो उसके हिस्से में आता था। उसमें उसने एक छोटी सी छड़ी से मारना शुरु कर दिया जिससे बकरी इधर उधर भागने लगी और बड़ी बहू बकरी का दूध नहीं निकाल सकी लेकिन वह कुछ कर भी नहीं सकती थी क्योंकि वह बकरी को अपने हिस्से में मार रहा था।

The next day when the younger son was feeding his goat, the elder daughter-in-law went to extract its milk.

 As soon as she sat down to take out the milk, the younger son put the goat in the front part which used to be in his part.  In that he started hitting with a small stick due to which the goat started running here and there and the elder daughter-in-law could not extract the goat's milk but she could not do anything because he was killing the goat on his part.

अब फसल की बारी थी कुछ ही दिनों बाद फसल भी पकने वाली थी इस बार छोटे बेटे ने फसल पकने से पहले ही अपने हिस्से का भाग जो नीचे का था। उसने काट लिया जिससे बड़ी बहू के हाथ कुछ नहीं आया। लेकिन वह कुछ नहीं कर सकी।

अब तो आये दिन उसके साथ ऐसा ही होने लगा।

Now it was the turn of the crop, after a few days the crop was also about to ripen, this time the younger son had already taken the part of his share which was below.  He cut it so that nothing came to the hands of the elder daughter-in-law.  But she couldn't do anything.

 Now a days the same thing started happening to him.

आखिर में बड़ी बहू को समझ में आ गया और उसने अपनी हार मान ली और अपने सास ससुर तथा देवर से अपनी गलतियों के लिए माफी मांगी । पूरे घर ,खेत तथा अन्य सामानों का फिर से सही तरीके से बंटवारा हुवा और सभी लोग सुखपूर्वक रहने लगे।

At last the elder daughter-in-law understood and accepted her defeat and apologized to her mother-in-law and brother-in-law for her mistakes.  The whole house, farm and other items were again properly divided and all the people started living happily.

किसी ने सत्य ही कहा है कभी कभी जैसे का तैसा व्यवहार करना भी जरूरी हो जाता है।

Someone has told the truth, sometimes it becomes necessary to behave like that.
